Making the Grade

As winter draws in, we knuckle down with post production on The Suppression of Hannah Stevenson. The film, which was shot intermittently between February and October this year, tells the story of Matt & Hannah, who run into trouble whilst on their first holiday together in Eastern Europe. Needless to say, the situation soon goes from bad to worse, when the young couple find themselves in the middle of a local blood feud.

With the film in the can, as they say, it is now being edited and colour graded using Blackmagic Design’s DaVinci Resolve. DaVinci Resolve works seamlessly with the footage, which was primarily shot on Blackmagic cameras, and you can see from the image above just how much control the software affords you.

I for one am very grateful to companies like Blackmagic Design and Adobe, for making the filmmaking process accessible to those creatives like myself, and giving us the tools we need to create something that we hope is going to entertain audiences for years to come.
